All-on-4® Treatment

Sometimes it is necessary to replace an entire arch of decayed or unhealthy teeth. Full-arch replacement can do so using as few as 4 implant posts.

All-on-4 Treatment Concept/Full-Arch Restoration in Birmingham, Alabama

The team at Roden Oral, Facial, and Dental Implant Surgery is dedicated to providing safe, healthy tooth replacement solutions for beautiful, brand-new smiles that exceed our patients’ expectations. When patients come to us because they need replacements for many teeth in either their upper or lower jaw, they often want a solution that offers more benefits than a conventional denture. In these cases, we may recommend a full-arch restoration using the All-on-4 treatment concept. This safe and innovative tooth restoration solution utilizes precision-placed dental implants to secure a custom-made fixed dental prosthesis.

There are a few factors that both you and your oral surgeon will consider when determining if full-arch restoration is right for your restoration goals and needs. Please contact us to request a consultation with our oral surgeons to discuss if new fully functional teeth with an All-on-4 procedure is the right option to restore your smile.

We have found that it helps our patients gain confidence about their upcoming procedures to hear stories from patients who have already undergone similar procedures at our practice. We encourage you to check out our Patient Stories page.

Why choose a full-arch restoration with All-on-4 over individual implants?

Like with individual implants, full-arch restorations using All-on-4 are fixed, secure, and can prevent bone atrophy in the jaw. In addition to these benefits, All-on-4 offers patients a full arch of new, completely functional and natural-looking new teeth with less surgery than would be required if they were to receive multiple individual implants and is, therefore, more cost-effective and requires less recovery time. Furthermore, most patients are candidates for this type of full-arch restoration, even if they have bone loss in the jaw.

With reduced recovery time, a new smile with less of a wait, and all the oral health benefits of dental implants, it’s no surprise that All-on-4 full-arch restorations are very popular at our practice.

How does the All-on-4 procedure work?

When you receive an All-on-4 procedure at our practice, Drs. Roden and Alling along with your restorative dentist will restore your oral function and smile efficiently with minimal surgery in the comfort of our state-of-the-art practice. The first step in your treatment is your consultation, during which your oral surgeon will plan your surgery and your preferences regarding anesthesia will be discussed. You will see your restorative dentist around this time as well, to have impressions made for your custom, permanent dental prosthesis that will be attached once your implants heal sufficiently. We will work closely with your restorative dentist every step of the way to complete your treatment.

During your procedure, any teeth remaining in the dental arch that you are restoring will be removed, and implant posts will be accurately placed into your jaw bone. The surgical sites will be stitched closed, and you will rest until your anesthesia has worn off.

We will collaborate closely with your restorative dentist who will be designing and creating your custom dental prosthesis during your healing time. While you heal, you will have the option of wearing a temporary denture. Once your implants have fused with the jaw bone, your permanent custom-made prosthesis will be attached to the implant posts in your jaw, and your restoration will be complete!

If you are ready to learn more, we encourage you to request a consultation appointment with one of our two highly skilled oral surgeons to discuss your condition and options. We look forward to helping you smile again.
