Rocklin Alling, DDS

Dr. Alling and his wifeDr. Rocklin Alling has literally spent his entire life in the world of oral surgery. He was born at US Army hospital in Stuttgart, West Germany where is father, a world renowned o0ral surgeon, was stationed. Like many service families, Dr. Alling lived all over the United States before entering Indiana University and the Indiana School of Dentistry. Following a VA General practice Residency in Birmingham, he trained at the University of Louisville Oral and maxillofacial Residency program. Upon Completion, Dr. Alling volunteered and joined the US Army, where he was stationed at Landstuhl, West Germany near the hospital where he was born.

After serving his tour of duty, he went into private practice in Hoover where he provided care for over 3 decades. During that time, he wrote many professional articles published in the “Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery” and “Oral and Maxillofacial clinics of North America”. Additionally, he co-edited the textbook, “Impacted Teeth”.

Dr. Alling has been active and a leader in both Birmingham District Dental Society and Alabama State Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He also has been a consultant for US Army Dental Corps.

Having been married for over forty-four years to Pam, they both have been blessed with a large family of three sons, three beautiful daughter-in-law’s, and eight amazing grandchildren. The Alling’s are active members of their church including involvement with a prison ministry. When he is not traveling, Dr. Alling enjoys art and strived to become a better painter.

Dr. Rocklin Alling, DDS is thrilled and honored to merge his long-standing practice with Dr. David Roden. They have operated together for several years and have the same philosophy of quality patient care.
